Solheim Cup: Fan Activation


Client: LPGA, Ping, USGA, Hilton, Sky Scanner & KLM

Event: Solheim Cup 2024

Activation: Fan Activation

Location: Gainesville, Virginia, USA


The Brief:

We were approached by multiple partners & sponsors of the event to bring their brands to life through activation, to support on increasing brand awareness and engagement. Alongside this, the LPGA were looking to make an impact at the event with entrance, exit & course signage to ensure a seamless and impressive look to the overall Fan Village.


The Process:

The design & production teams worked closely with all partners, to ensure each activation was unique and referenced brands appropriately. It was also important that all activations on offer across the Fan Village catered for fans of all ages & abilities, to ensure all target audiences could engage and have fun! We also had phenomenal branding to work with, where we wanted to ensure that the structures and activations, we built showed this off!


The Result:

Event Signage: We built the entrance & exit structures within the Fan Village, where the entrance was used for ticketing.   


Long Putt: 20m USA & Europe branded, where fans went head-to-head for their team to add a point onto the leader board!  


Putting Course: 6 mini hole putting course working with the USGA to provide branded props and obstacles.    


PING Fitting & Club Zone: We designed & built a driving range that allowed experts from PING to give fans the ultimate fitting and demo experience!


Hilton Driving Range: Teaming up with Hilton, we built a driving range that was utilised by local PGA professionals to provide fans with quick 5 min lessons.  


Green Screen Photo Opp: Working with Sky Scanner we provided a Photo Opportunity that used Sky Scanner brand assets, a great little souvenir for fans visiting the event.  


Impossible Putt: One of our harder activations for fans to master, we worked with KLM to provide a unique activation that embraced the world of flying!  


Our work in the world of women’s sport is consistently on the rise, where it was a pleasure to work at the pinnacle of women’s golf! The Solheim Cup has been drawing notable crowd numbers over the past few years, and it has fantastic to be part of that growth with the increase of fan activation & engagement included at this event. Activation is a great tool to use for encouraging participation in any sport, where it was remarkable to see how many young girls & adults were engaged at the event across all the activations we delivered!
