The Brief:
We were honoured to have been chosen by the EPCR event management team to design, deliver and manage the entire Fan Village across the EPCR Finals weekend. The objective was to encourage rugby fans to interact with the event before the live games, to create a thrilling atmosphere! We also worked closely with Qatar Airways, IHG & Kappa as official sponsors of the tournament, to support them with brand activation & experiences.
The Process:
With the debut of activation within the Fan Village at the event, the team were excited to get stuck into designing & producing a thrilling and exclusive experience for fans! We looked at how we could incorporate all the skills of rugby, to create an activation that could be enjoyed by fans of all ages and abilities. The EPCR team wanted to include a data capture element, to encourage reattendance at the tournament in 2025 as part of their wider brand and event promotion.
The partnerships teams for IHG, Qatar Airways & Kappa wanted to deliver individual brand activations that were memorable and engaging for fans, to amplify the brand name and their connection with the sport.
The Result:
EPCR Rugby Champions Village: An exciting and unforgettable rugby Fan Village, creating an energising atmosphere ahead of the two finals!
Welcome Entrance: Fans were welcomed into the village through our arch structure, an impressive and eye-catching way to enter any event!
Coaches Challenge: A brand new rugby activation for 2024, we designed a challenge that challenged fans to take on all key rugby skills as quickly as possible. Fans would register before taking part, with quickest scores on our lead board in with a chance of winning tickets to the 2025 event in Cardiff!
Qatar Airways Knock Em’ Dow: Housed within the XPO6 AirClad structure, with created a bespoke Qatar Airways Knock Em’ Down challenge where fans had 30 seconds to knock as many rugby balls off the plinths as possible.
Kappa PhotoBox: Using the XPO4 AirClad structure, we designed a Kappa branded PhotoBox where fans could step in and grab a photo on our green screen, which was then emailed to them. Fans could then share their snap across all social media platforms!
IHG Interactive Totems: Another opportunity for fans to win tickets to the tournament in 2025, we had 2 x IHG branded interactive totems for fans to take part in our quiz & memory games to see if they could be quick enough to be winners!
What an incredible event to be part of, at one of the best stadiums in the world! Team PVE have thoroughly enjoyed working on this Fan Village over the past 6 months, where it was rewarding for us to see how much enjoyment fans had with all our activations. We welcomed over 7,000 fans across the Finals weekend, with the Fan Village creating an exhilarating atmosphere ahead of the games! The tournament allowed us to showcase our unique proficiencies in delivering our full-service event solutions, transferable across any sport or event. We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with all the teams into 2025!
